We are all holistic beings. We are not just a body, or a mind. We also are emotional, and spirit. We need to care for our whole being!!
Now, physically we:
- Eat every day and nourish our body; we need to choose healthy foods in order for our body to function optimally
- Exercise regularly to maintain flexibility, optimum blood flow, strengthen our muscles and create resistance
- Rest to recharge our energy
- Eliminate daily to release toxins
- Drink a sensible amount of water to keep our body cleansed and hydrated
Yes, we need to also care for our emotional state. What happens when we eat too much? Indigestion. Or when we become careless in any of the above? Unbalance.
Well, it’s exactly the same principle when it comes to our emotional state.
Emotionally, we ALSO need to:
- Nourish ourselves emotionally/spiritually on a daily basis. These practices can look like meditation, prayer, breath work, reading self-help material, etc.
- Choose healthy relationships and hang out with people how add to our good
- Laugh, enjoy, have fun, love
- Go within, have quiet moments with ourselves…and yes, with our Higher Power and reboot; rest
- Exercise wisdom, intuition and assertiveness. No need for the victim persona
- Eliminate toxic and harmful emotions (anger, fear, hate, frustration) in healthy ways and not carry them around until we become ill.
I invite you take care of yourself, ALL OF YOU. We all need to do this. We become happier and create a better world to live in.
